But nothing breaks the power of bonds
Things that will piss off Sonic fans:
- Referring to rings as "coins".
- Calling Super Shadow "Hyper Shadow" (one gaming magazine erroneously captioned a picture of Super Shadow as Hyper Shadow, causing fans to insist that that was the correct term even though the same magazine later claimed it was a mistake).
- Pluralising "Chao" as "Chaos" ("Chao" is both singular and plural, like "sheep" or "Pokémon". Not to mention that "Chaos" looks like another word entirely).
- Saying that "Chao" is pronounced "kay-o" (it's pronounced "chow", like "chow down" or "Chow Yun Fat")
- Calling Tails "Tails the Fox" (His name is Miles "Tails" Prower, or Tails for short. He's one of the few characters that don't have a "Character the Species" name, the others being Amy Rose and Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik, although Amy was originally named Rosy the Rascal.)
- Referring to Super Tails (from Sonic 3 & Knuckles) as Turbo Tails (Turbo Tails was a completely separate alternate version of Tails that only appeared in Sonic the Comic).
- Referring to Tails as female (This was a common mistake made by Japanese fans (and many English-speaking fans too) when Sonic the Hedgehog 2 first came out - they thought that Tails was female because he was always following Sonic around (and his design looked quite feminine too, especially in sprite form). The Mexican Spanish dub of Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog even referred to Tails as a female character.)
- Whichever name you use for the main villain, there will be people who insist on using the other name. Sega have attempted to mitigate this somewhat by claiming that both names are correct - his real name is Dr. Ivo Robotnik (with "Ivo" being pronounced "ee-vo", rather than "eye-vo" as everyone tends to pronounce it - it's supposed to be a homonym for "evil", as well as being "ovi", Latin for "eggs", spelled backwards), with "Eggman" being a nickname (which the comics explain was originally a nickname he was called as an insult, but he took the name and gave it power, forming the Eggman Empire).
- While it is true that Sonic Team wanted Jaleel White (who portrayed Sonic in Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic The Hedgehog (a.k.a. Sonic SatAM) and Sonic Underground) to voice Classic Sonic in Sonic Generations, it's not true that Jaleel turned down the role or that he demanded too much money for it. In fact, Jaleel tweeted that he was never even approached by Sonic Team about the role.
- In Sonic Adventure 2's Chao Garden, Energy Chao and the White Market don't exist.
- There is no "Team Metal" in Sonic Heroes (rumour had it that getting an A Rank on all stages would unlock Metal Sonic, just like it does in Sonic Adventure, and that rather than being just a simple reskin, this would actually unlock an extra mode called Team Metal, who would chase Team Sonic through difficult stages). The only unlockable mode in Sonic Heroes is Hard Mode.
