Shine bright like a diamond
I've got some character profiles here for no one to look at.
These four girls are collectively referred to as the Jewel Trio. They know full well the name is inaccurate, but Ruby couldn't remember or pronounce "Jewel Quartet", so she went with "Trio" instead. They used to be called the Jewel Sisters, but that caused people to think they were blood-related, which they're not.
Starting with the youngest.
Ruby - Despite being 18, Ruby acts like she's about 8 most of the time. She has a short attention span (sometimes displaying signs of mild ADD or ADHD) and a habit of only half-listening, meaning she often misunderstands things or gets fixated on random little details. She has the ability to "scan" people, which lets her find out things about them like their name, age, date and place of birth, hobbies and favourite food, but she still manages to never get people's names right. Can be a bit of a handful sometimes, but means well, in her own way. Somehow able to have coherent conversations in her sleep (the others joke that even when she's unconscious, she doesn't shut up).
Emerald - A bit more mature and level-headed than Ruby, Emerald is mostly there to keep Ruby on a (often very short) leash and make sure she doesn't get into too much trouble. While Emerald is mostly polite and respectful, she can occasionally accidentally ask or say too much if she gets familiar or comfortable with someone. Her ability is being able to tune instruments just by touching or being near them, which does have its uses sometimes.
Sapphire: Despite not being the oldest, Sapphire is the one in charge of the others. Sapphire believes words are precious, like coins or gems, so she doesn't talk unless she needs to and always carefully chooses her words whenever she does. REALLY likes music and is very protective of her MP3 player, to the point she will get very upset if she finds out someone else was touching or using it. She never goes anywhere without it. Has the ability to create illusory clones of herself to distract or confuse people.
Diamond: The oldest and probably also the most submissive, Diamond is a shy, quiet, timid, submissive type turned up to eleven. About as quiet as Sapphire if not more so due to her shyness, her default response to pretty much anything is blushing and either mumbling or stuttering as she tries in vain to get her words out. So eager to please and do what she's told that even Ruby can boss her around (a privilege she regularly takes advantage of). Her ability is pain relief - she can reduce or erase pain just by touching whichever part hurts (on herself or others), but it doesn't actually heal the injury, just stops or lessens the pain.
