What are you trying to fix me for

This is a list I'm making of all confirmed transgender characters in video games. For clarity's sake, when I say "transgender" I mean specifically a character who has transitioned from one gender to the opposite (e.g. someone who was assigned male at birth but now presents and identifies as female), so for simplicity's sake I'm not including non-binary or otherwise genderfluid/genderqueer characters in this list, even though they would also fall under the umbrella term of "trans". Also, by "confirmed" I mean that the character is explicitly shown or stated to be trans either in the game itself, or in an official source like a character bio or a statement by the creator of the character.

Also, spoilers ahead. You have been warned.

Vivian
Game: Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door
Evidence: In-game dialogue has others describe her as male, while she refers to herself as female. This aspect of her character was removed in the English localisation of the original game, but was restored in the English localisation of the remake.

Madeline
Game: Celeste
Evidence: Revealed by the creator two years after the game was released.

Space Boyfriend (among other names)
Game: OMORI
Evidence: Revealed by the original creator of the character. No evidence for this exists in the game itself, as omocat (the creator of the game) wrote the version of him that appears in the game and was unaware of this aspect of his character at the time, though they have since confirmed that he is still canonically trans.

Tyler Ronan
Game: Tell Me Why
Evidence: Tyler being transmasc is a big part of his character and the plot of the game, and he is also voiced by trans actor August Aiden Black.

Erica Anderson
Game: Catherine
Evidence: In-game dialogue in one of the endings reveals that Erica's friends used to know her as "Eric" (other dialogue throughout the game implies/hints at her being trans, but it's not explicitly revealed until this ending). An ending in the re-release, Catherine: Full Body, shows an alternate timeline in which "Eric" either didn't or has yet to transition, though the character only briefly appears in the ending and has no dialogue.

Poison and Roxy
Game: Final Fight (and Street Fighter in Poison's case)
Evidence: Though there were rumours at the time that these characters were designed as cis in Japan and made trans in the American localisation due to problems with violence against women, these rumours, aside from being rather transphobic, are thankfully not true - Poison and Roxy were always trans. Their Japanese character bios refer to them both as "newhalf", a Japanese term (now considered derogatory) specifically meaning a trans woman who has undergone gender confirmation surgery.

Beauty Nova/Nohea
Game: Pokémon X and Y and Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire
Evidence: Upon defeating her, she states "Yes, a mere half year ago I was a Black Belt! Quite the transformation, wouldn't you say?" Black Belt is a male-only Trainer class, so the implication is very clear. It's even more explicit in the Japanese version, where she praises modern medicine for allowing her "transformation" to happen.

Bridget
Game: Guilty Gear
Evidence: After several years of being known in-universe as a boy who was raised as a girl, Bridget finally officially came out as a trans woman in 2021's Guilty Gear Strive, which series creator Ishiwatari Daisuke confirmed was the intention for her all along.

Jackie "J.J." Macfield
Game: The Missing: J.J. Macfield and the Island of Memories
Evidence: The ending shows that main character J.J. Macfield is a closeted, pre-transition trans girl, a fact which is slowly revealed via unlockable text message conversations throughout the game.

Sirona Ryan
Game: Hogwarts Legacy
Evidence: In-game dialogue from her reveals she's trans, as she comments on her classmates taking a while to realise she was actually a witch, not a wizard. This, incidentally, makes her the first confirmed transgender character to appear in the Harry Potter franchise. She is also voiced by transgender actress Rebecca Root.
(Note: The above is included for completion's sake only, and is not an endorsement of Hogwarts Legacy, Harry Potter, or J. K. Rowling.)
