Actually, if you don't mind...

I've decided to do a pointless trivia on Doctor Who. Not sure how many random useless facts I can think of, but I'll see what I can do. As every fan of the show (except the most casual ones) will tell you, the main character's name is The Doctor, not Doctor Who. However, the British media, the BBC, series materials and the original credits all refer to him as Doctor Who, so it is okay to use the term (though it might make some people angry). William Hartnell, who played the First Doctor, was eventually asked to leave the show due to his declining health. Rather than kill off the character, the BBC came up with the idea of the Doctor regenerating when he dies, allowing them to have an explanation for replacing the actor with someone younger and fitter. While "Reverse the polarity of the neutron flow!" is seen as a catchphrase of sorts of the Third Doctor, he actually only ever said that exact phrase once (or maybe twice) in the entire series. He did reverse t...

So you know we were out there

How about some Persona 5 pointless trivia? In development, Futaba originally had black hair. According to character designer Soejima Shigenori, her hair is naturally black, she just dyes it orange. Like Rise in the game before her, she was also originally meant to be an actual party member, rather than just the navigator. There's evidence to suggest that Akechi was also originally going to be a permanent party member. There is a mouse model for Akechi fully programmed in the game files, despite the fact that the "mouse" status effect is never available while Akechi is in the party, and there are sound files within the game for Akechi summoning Loki normally, in both Japanese and English, with code existing for him to be able to use Loki as a playable Persona instead of Robin Hood. Players were finally given the option to have Black Mask Akechi and Loki playable in the updated rerelease Persona 5 The Royal . Sae Niijima was originally going to be a normal Confidant ...

Rejoice! The judges have ruled!

I don't often post character profiles here, but I do have a special place in my heart for all the roleplay characters I've created over the years. In particular, there's a set of 12 characters all named after months of the year, who were initally created as transforming magical girls but don't tend to do a lot of that, really. They're collectively referred to as "Calendar Girls" (very clever, I know) and here's a bit more about them. Name: January Real name or nickname?: No idea. She won't tell. Age: Probably about 25 Appearance: Think basically Elsa from Frozen, except taller and with shorter, non-braided hair. Position: Dominant Nationality: Finnish Relationships: Dominant to February and Dana (another character of mine), older half-sister of December Personality: Comes off as an "ice queen" type, no pun intended, but has a playful side hidden underneath her seemingly-cold exterior. Doesn't like to talk much about herself, ...

Just let me out of here!

Musical Misappropriations Because ranting about stuff people get wrong is a good way to make myself feel better. The song "Don't Worry, Be Happy" was not sung by Bob Marley. The singer, Bobby McFerrin, isn't even Jamaican - he's American, and he's putting on a fake Jamaican accent during the song (that isn't his real singing voice). Also, the song is actually supposed to be satirical (you've got all these serious, non-trivial problems, but don't worry, be happy!), not a genuine feel-good song like many people interpret it as. "Everybody Hurts" by R.E.M. was not written about the death of Kurt Cobain, as even some magazines and newspapers have falsely reported. Kurt Cobain died in 1994, while that song was featured on the album Automatic for the People , which came out in 1992. The song itself is simply a comfort anthem with suicidal teenagers in mind. Michael Stipe did write a song about Kurt Cobain's death, but it was called ...

This time, baby, I'll be bulletproof

Twilight's Vocabulary - A Guide I've been meaning to do this forever but kept putting it off. Now I'm finally doing it. All my strange turns of phrase and character tics, documented here for your not-reading pleasure. This is written in third person, mainly because I wanted to style it like I'm some kind of strange creature (which is true) or video game character (which I wish were true) or something like that. Vocabulary "Voi, voi..." More or less a vocal sigh, twilight will say this when she's feeling particularly exasperated with something. Originates from Finnish. "Fwee..." Pronounced more like "fhee" with a noticeable breath of air after the "f", this vocalisation means that twilight is exhausted or worn out. It can be either negative or positive, depending on the situation - sometimes, twilight will make this sound after completing a task or a particularly difficult section of a video game, for instanc...

Pointless trivia about Mega Man. I may have done this before, but I'm doing it again anyway. Some of the names considered for the main character in development were Battle Kid, Mighty Kid and Knuckle Kid. The first game was originally going to be called The Battle Rainbow Rock Man, in reference to Rock/Mega Man changing colours when he used a different Robot Master power. Zero was originally the design for Mega Man X. Keiji Inafune designed the main character of the Mega Man X series to look like Zero originally, but it was thought that having the main character look too different from classic Mega Man might alienate fans, so the original X design was reworked as a different character and Inafune made the actual Mega Man X look closer to his classic counterpart. Inafune would get his wish to have Zero be the main character when the MegaMan Zero series began. Fans argue about whether or not the Zero from the Mega Man X games and the Zero from the MegaMan Zero games are the sam...
