I was like "Should I order the game online?"

Haha, how's it goin', bros? It's gonna be another "random facts" blog post, this time about the YouTube gamer known as PeeeeewDiePie!

PewDiePie's real name is Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg (in Sweden, apparently people have two middle names). He explained the origin of "PewDiePie" in one of his "Friday with PewDiePie" videos, that it originated from his childhood playing games. He took "pew", the sound of a laser being fired, and put it together with "die" (as in the verb "to die"), forming PewDie (pronounced like "pew" and "die" put together, as opposed to "pew-dee"). Later on, when he forgot the password to his PewDie YouTube account, he made a new account called PewDiePie, based on something he used to say when playing games as a kid. (The new account name being pronounced "Pew-dee-pie").

In the game Surgeon Simulator 2013, the achievement "It's In! It's In I Tell You!" is a reference to one of Pewds's playthroughs of the game. To get the achievement, you have to go to the Heart Transplant level, break open the patient's rib cage, remove all his internal organs, put the heart in upside-down and let the patient die. In PewDiePie's playthrough, he (accidentally) put the heart in upside-down and didn't have time to fix it before the patient died. When he does this in the video, he yells "It's in! It's fucking in! It's in I tell you!"

The "Pewdsball" organ and achievement from the same game also takes its name from PewDiePie.

PewDiePie's girlfriend Marzia (a.k.a. CutiePie) met him on Facebook after being shown his videos by a friend of hers. They currently live together in the UK. Marzia once made a video (which has since been made private) on her own channel explaining that she was her own person (while PewDiePie makes gaming videos, she tends to do blogs on fashion and makeup tutorials) and that people shouldn't subscribe to her expecting to see Pewds all the time.

In his Draw My Life video, Pewds said that on his first day of school, he went to school with his hair up and wearing a dress and told everyone there he was a girl.

At one point early on in his "career", Pewds sarcastically responded to a negative comment on one of his videos, saying "your extra views get me extra cash!". A fan backlash from people thinking he was actually serious resulted, causing him to make another video where he clarified the statement and attempted to provide damage control. Since then, he has encouraged his fans not to respond to any negative comments on his videos, and expresses disappointment whenever his fans attack anyone who criticises him.

PewDie's (actually Marzia's, but they own her together now since they live together) pug Maya (a.k.a. Puga or Puga-chan) only has one eye, since she lost the other one in an incident with a cat while sailing.

PewDiePie occasionally shows off his musical talent in his videos as well. He did a cover of "Wonderwall" by Oasis (singing and playing guitar) as a gift for Marzia, and did the same thing for "Let It Go" from Frozen in one of his "Pewds Does Everything" videos.

Since August 2013, PewDiePie's YouTube channel has been the number 1 most-subscribed-to channel on YouTube (not including YouTube's own "YouTube Spotlight" channel, which briefly overtook it in November and December 2013), with over 27 million subscribers.

In May 2013, at the Starcount Social Stars Awards in Singapore, PewDiePie won the award for Most Popular Social Show, beating Jenna Marbles, Smosh and Toby Turner, and also won the Swedish Social Star Award. At the awards, Pewds deliberately went to greet his fans personally, despite security warning him against doing so.

PewDiePie refuses to hire an editor to help him with his video output, saying "I want YouTube to be YouTube".

Independent games featured on PewDiePie's channel usually experience a significant boost in sales.

In celebration of reaching 10 million subscribers, PewDiePie organised his own charity campaign, in order to raise money to provide water to third-world countries. At the end of the drive, the amount of money reached was more than double the original goal. He has also raised money for the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

He ran for King of the Web in February 2012, but lost, though he still became "Gaming King of the Web" for the voting period of 1-15 February. During the next voting period, he won and donated his cash winnings to the WWF.

Notch, the creator of Minecraft, is a self-proclaimed "bro" and fan of PewDie's videos.

He turned off comments on his videos after some trolls accused him of beating his girlfriend, which he was understandably not amused by. Though he also did it partially because he disliked YouTube's new comment system.

He has appeared in a few YouTube series, including one episode of Your Grammar Sucks, making a cameo appearance as Mikhail Baryshnikov in the Epic Rap Battles of History episode "Rasputin vs. Stalin", and appears at the end of YouTube's "YouTube Rewind 2013" video.

Despite speaking more or less fluent English, his second-language difficulties occasionally show through. In his Amnesia playthroughs, he refers to suits of armour as "statues" consistently (though this might be just him mistaking what they are), he is known to say "Front flip!" when actually doing a backflip (and vice versa) in Happy Wheels, and in his playthrough of The Stanley Parable he called a refrigerator a radiator and a radiator a refrigerator.
